This adorable image and sentiment are both from Whimsy Doodles. Isn't that a cute little sheep (or Ewe, I guess?)
Photobucket

Happy Father's Day to my Dad

I know, it's still almost a month until Father's Day but it never hurts to get an early start, right?

Treehouse Sketch

This is another super cute image from Bugaboo. In fact, it was one of three freebies that they gave away for getting 300 followers on their challenge blog. Go check it out. It's also Freebie Friday over there-don't miss out. This card was made in cooperation with my son, Kyle. He is studying for exams so he comes down to the basement where I have my craft table and sits near me because it's quiet. I asked him what color I should color the sweater and he suggested this one. He also suggested the sentiment. Who knew a 15 year old would be such a great consultant? Photobucket
I used the sketch from this week's Treehouse challenge.

For Sam

I've sent several cards to Sam, the sweet little 5 year old boy fighting cancer. Check out the link on my sidebar if you want to participate in brightening this little boy's days. The cards I've sent have been boyish, fun cards I've made recently but this is the first one I've made specifically with Sam in mind. I hope he likes it. This image is from Di's Digi Downloads. You have GOT to go check her out, she has fantastic images like this one.

Crafty Saturday Scraps

Photobucket

Out of the Box

That's the challenge this week at Pile it On..."out of the box". The first card I made for the challenge was my dragonfly card where the dragonfly was positioned slightly outside of the square. Quite a literal interpretation. This time I went "out of the box" meaning I used something I don't normally use and am not that comfortable using...PRIMARY COLORS.
Photobucket
Challenges:
Pile it On: Outside the box
Our Creative Corner Sketch: Sketch
I'm sure you all recognize my favorite Bugaboo Brat, Sean. :)

Cleaning off My Craft Table

I've been making cards this week, really...I have. But I have been lax in photographing them and uploading them. Not sure why...just being lazy. So, I'm going to post several cards today that have been piling up on my craft table.
I'm using Sean from Bugaboo again. I just love this little guy!

A Card for Jayme

Today when I was checking in with my Tuesday Challenges, I saw on the A Spoonful of Sugar blog a request to send cards to the sister of one of their DT members. Lisa's sister Jayme has terminal lung cancer and they've recently found out that the cancer has spread even more. Lisa is asking people to send a card to Jayme, preferably one that has a frog on it because Jayme likes frogs, just to cheer her up. You can read more about it and join in HERE. I sent this card:
Photobucket
Go check it out and make Jayme's day a little brighter.

Coupon: Good for One Free Hug

I found this little "coupon" stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's awhile back and finally got a chance to use it with this super cute bear from Di's Digi Downloads. If you haven't seen Di's work, I HIGHLY recommend you pop over there and pick up any of her SUPER ADORABLE images. They are all very reasonably priced and one is cuter than the next. Seriously, you won't be able to resist getting yourself some.
Photobucket
You can't see this in my card but the image is really that of the bear holding a little envelope. I put my coupon right over that spot..it just worked. So, if you head over to Di's and are looking for this guy, you'll see him holding an envelope...just so you know.

Around the World-to GERMANY

This week the Sisterhood of Crafters are travelling to Germany. You can make a card inspired by anything German, I chose the flag colors and used another one of my new Bugaboo Brats images. This one is named Michael.
Photobucket
Colored him with Copics, used my Distressed Stripes embossing folder. Paper from my scrap pile and buttons from my stash.
Challenges:
Sisterhood of Crafters: Germany inspired
Dare U to Digistamp: for the boys
Eat Sleep Stamp: sketch
Crafty Creations: encouragement or celebration

A Christmas Kiss

Okay, this is a TOTALLY different kind of Christmas card for me. First, there are no snowmen. GASP! Second, the image doesn't exactly say "Christmas" to me and third, the totally non traditional Christmas colors. That's one thing I really like about challenges...you try new things and put things together in ways that you might not have thought of yourself.
The challenge this week at ABC Christmas challenge was K for kiss. TOUGH ONE! I don't have any snowmen kissing or anyone under the mistletoe. This image is from Simple Inger.
Photobucket
It's technically a Valentine's image but I thought it could also be used for Christmas. :)
Challenges:
ABC Christmas: K for kiss (optional shaped card)
Treehouse: pink, skyblue, brown and cream
Sweet Sketch Wednesday: sketch
Digi Doodles Shop: glitter and glitz (glittered her hair, the boy's scarf and the rose)
Bah Humbug: Ribbon

There's a Bugaboo in the Window

I've added a few new Bugaboo images to my collection so you'll be seeing some new images in the next few days since I can hardly wait to use them. This card is made with the adorable Bugaboo Brat Desiree.
Photobucket
I used my oval Nesties to cut out the window. Colored the image with Copics and used a couple of flowers from the "tub-o-primas". Dew drops are from my stash and the papers are all from my scrap pile which never seems to get smaller. I used the scalloped oval Nestie and the oval Nestie for the sentiment bubble. Then I pop dotted that on to the card.
Challenges:
Charisma Cardz: 3d element on your card
Color Throwdown: light pink, melon, baja breeze
Meljens: spots
Lil Red Wagon: make a window on your card

Stockpiling the Christmas Cards

Thanks to Bah Humbug, ABC Christmas Challenge and Just Christmas and Birthday Cards, I'm starting to get a stack of Christmas cards. This card makes number 13...I know that's not THAT many but it's mid-May so if I keep this up I'll have quite a few by the time I'm ready to start sending them out in December. YAY! Oh, and in case you were wondering, only 8 of the 13 are snowman themed! I know, I need to branch out so if I make Christmas cards next week, they will NOT be snowman themed. But only for next week...no promises beyond that. :)
This card was made using the sketch from this week's Just Christmas and Birthday cards challenge. The image is from Dustin Pike. Also entering it in the Bah Humbug challenge which was to use ribbon.
Photobucket
I used the JCBC sketch to make this birthday card too:

Trying Something New

This week, the There She Goes Clear Stamps Challenge is called "make an impression". The challenge is to use line art. I had no idea what that meant so I read on and discovered that you are supposed to stamp your image in a light color, and then paper piece a portion of it, or just color a small portion of it. I thought that sounded intriguing and the DT samples were gorgeous so I decided to give it a try with one of my Anya stamps. I stamped the whole image onto the pink paper with Versamark. Then I stamped it again on some patterned paper and cut out the boots and the purse which I pop-dotted onto the image. I hope I've done this correctly. I *think* I like it but sometimes when I look at it, I think the boots and purse look like they are just floating in mid air so it looks odd. :)
Photobucket
Challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar: cute and girly
Papertake Weekly: flowers
TSG: lineart
Kah Wink E Dink: make your own embellishments (I colored the flowers with Copics and added the buttons to the middles)
Just a side note here about coloring the flowers. WOW I think I'm going to buy all white flowers from now on. I mean, I have a ton of Copics and it's so easy to color the flowers to match whatever color you are using. No more searching for the exact right color flower! Yes, I do have the "tub of Primas" I got at the convention and it will probably take me five years to use them up BUT I'm happy to have found this coloring option and will definitely use it a lot.

Send them to Sam Campaign

I came across this post earlier this morning on the Pixie Dust Studios blog. It's a campaign to send cards to a sweet little boy named Sam who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. The idea is to send him cards to cheer him up and help him stay postitive in the fight he has ahead of him. Here's the original post from Pixie Dust Studios:

I am challenging all you talented ladies to help little Sam fight Cancer. Sam is a wonderful and strong 5 year old boy. His battle with Cancer is just beginning. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma this week. He has a very tough fight ahead of him. I would love everyone to join me in helping Sam fight this and WIN! Sam will be in the hospital for many months. I am starting a campaign to fill his days with tons of cards from all over the globe. What fun for Sam to know that people from all sides of the Earth are supporting and thinking about him. I am going to give him a map book and a ton of stickers. He will put a sticker on each location that his cards come from. How awesome would it be to cover the whole Earth with stickers from people supporting Super Sam. This will be a great adventure for Sam to watch the LOVE and SUPPORT from every corner of the globe. Lets each set a personal goal of one card a month, one card a week, or one card a day.
Keep them coming so he never stops looking forward to the next card delivery.

Ladies with a humble heart, I ask for your support in this Send Them to Super Sam campaign. I will provide updates from time to time to let you all know how Super Sam is winning his battle over Cancer. When he is victorious over Cancer we can all celebrate together in honor of the wonderful and brave Super Sam! I welcome anyone and everyone to join Pixie Dust Studio in the Send Them to Sam Card Campaign! Please take this blog blinkie and post it and link it back to the Pixie Dust Studio Super Sam link. Help pass this Campaign message along..lets spread the word, lets share the news. Cards are needed to help a little boy and his battle with Cancer!
Please send Cards and well wishes to....
Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center
1719 E 19th Ave
Denver CO 80218
ATTENTION: Samual Humphries
It would also be great fun to include the Super Sam image on the inside, back or envelope or mention SUPER SAM ...that way Sam will know that he is a Superhero and he can win this fight!
I would love if you would leave a quick comment below if you are joining this campaign.:) Also, please grab the Super Sam blog blinkie on the sidebar and spread the news that there is a NEW SUPERHERO in town and he needs our HELP!!
Blessing and Hugs to everyone for your time and effort in this important mission

Here is the Super Sam image to include on your cards, if you want to:

I used the colors from this week's Pals Paper Arts challenge which were turquois, olive and red.

StretchNBubbles Sketch Challenge #6 and Freebie

A lot happens on Wednesdays at StretchNBubbles. First, there is always a freebie to be had just by visiting the site. And second, for the sixth week now, it is time for a new sketch challenge at the SNB Sketch Challenge blog. Have you given the sketches a try yet? I'd love for you to join in and you have four chances to win an image from SNB every week. Here is a card I made with this week's sketch and today's freebie image of this adorable chick!
Photobucket
A few notes about the SNB Sketch challenge...you don't have to use an SNB image but if you do, your name goes in the drawing for prizes twice. Each week we choose a random winner and a top three...all four winners get one image of their choice. Please make something and link it to the challenge blog by next Tuesday at 5pm MOUNTAIN time.
I combined this with a few other challenges:
SNB Sketch: sketch
Spoonful of Sugar: use three papers and three buttons
Tuesday Taggers: Get out of your comfort zone. For me, it's VERY difficult to use multiple patterned paper on a card and, I don't really go for birds so it's unusual for me to make a card with a bird image

Let the Good Times Roll....

When I saw this image by Dustin Pike, I just had to get it. One of his DT members made a card with this image that said "Sorry I missed your Birthday....I'm a little behind". I thought that was hilarious and I think this image is super cute. I made this card using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the theme from Pals Paper Arts (which was to use monochromatic blues) and Kah Wink E Dink (also to use blue).
Photobucket
